Microsoft’s Power Platform is an efficient and cloud-based development environment consisting of four key products, PowerApps, Power BI, Power Automate and Power Virtual Agents. The platform uses visual and graphical methods to create software and is therefore referred to as a low-code platform. From simple workflows to complex business processes, the user suite enables companies to implement flexible and effective solutions as well as numerous use cases. In addition to the four applications, many connectors, a dataverse and an AI Builder are part of the basic structure of the platform.

PowerApps

PowerApps is a browser-based designer environment that requires SharePoint Online to use. Using the platform, you can create dynamic, responsive, and modern forms and apps. You have the option to use external data sources such as an Excel spreadsheet. The application easily integrates with other Microsoft 365 apps like Teams for mobile accessibility. Users have the option to respond dynamically to input based on set rules.

Power BI

Treffen Sie datengestützte Entscheidungen mit dem Microsoft Business Intelligence Tool Power BI. Das Tool wird für Datenanalyse sowie für die Datenvisualisierung verwendet. Sie können damit auf diverse Datenquellen zugreifen und Verbindungen herstellen. Power BI besteht aus drei Grundkomponenten:
• Power BI Desktop
• Power BI-Dienst als Online-SaaS-Dienst
• Mobile Power BI-Apps für Windows-, iOS- und Android-Geräte

Power Automate

Power Automate is a browser-based environment that allows you to create automated process flows. The flow is triggered by a trigger. This can be done by an event (e.g. an item is created), a manual trigger (e.g. button in a Power App) or a schedule (every Thursday at 3pm). The application enables the use of various external data sources and on-premises gateway, i.e. data located on SharePoint On Prem can be used and linked in this way.

Power Virtual Agents

With Power Virtual Agent, you can create intelligent, conversational, and multilingual bots that answer questions from customers, employees, or website visitors. From simple FAQ answers to complex problem-solving conversations, these powerful chatbots can be programmed without the need for data scientists or developers. You can use Power Virtual Agents either as a standalone web app or as a discrete app in Microsoft Teams.

Connectors

Connectors are interfaces to various systems and applications and enable a connection between apps, devices and data in the cloud. The Power Platform is impressively networked with around 350 connectors - increasing daily. Popular connectors are, for example, to Salesforce, Twitter or Google services.

AI Builder

With the help of this tool, companies have the possibility to integrate AI models into business processes and applications without having extensive knowledge in programming or data science.

Microsoft Dataverse

The standard data store for the Power Platform is the Microsoft Dataverse. On the secure, intelligent, scalable and low-code data platform, different data sources can be merged and stored in a defined number of tables.
