ShareGate is a powerful software tool that helps companies migrate, manage and secure their Microsoft 365 environments. ShareGate is particularly known for its user-friendly interface and its ability to perform complex migration processes – such as from SharePoint On-Premises to SharePoint Online or Microsoft Teams – efficiently and securely. The solution offers functions such as the analysis of source structures, the automated transfer of content, the management of authorizations and the creation of detailed migration reports.
Reasons for the partnership
IPI GmbH actively uses ShareGate for customer migrations in the Microsoft 365 environment.
In projects such as the migration of SharePoint content, OneDrive data or Teams structures, IPI offers a customized migration concept that is tailored to the respective initial situation and target architecture. The advantages of migration with ShareGate lie in the high degree of flexibility, the possibility of content analysis and consolidation as well as technical precision – for example, when transferring metadata, synchronizing with Azure AD or providing hybrid environments.
One specific advantage is support for the migration of complex SharePoint lists and workflows: Although ShareGate does not migrate active workflow tasks, it offers alternatives such as conversion to modern SharePoint lists or integration with Power Automate. ShareGate also enables transparent planning and documentation of the migration process, which is particularly important for projects with several terabytes of data – as in the case of Ledvance.
The Nintex add-on, which makes it possible to identify and analyze Nintex workflows as part of the migration, provides particular added value. This allows potential dependencies to be identified at an early stage and alternatives – for example with Power Automate – to be planned. ShareGate therefore offers not only technical support, but also strategic security when migrating to modern Microsoft 365 solutions.
